Leadership in Action (LIA) Fellowship

Promoting Professionalism. Empowering OST Leaders.

 

The Leadership in Action (LIA) Fellowship is a professional development series designed to strengthen leadership in Arkansas’s Out-of-School Time (OST) community. Through expert-led sessions, peer collaboration, and ongoing support, LIA Fellows gain the tools to build responsive, high-quality programs that meet the needs of families and local communities.

 
Who Should Apply?

This fellowship is ideal for:
  • Arkansas afterschool and summer learning administrators or staff with experience in program development, planning, or team leadership
  • Individuals familiar with afterschool and summer learning best practices, research, and trends

 
What You’ll Learn

LIA Fellows explore critical topics shaping the afterschool and summer learning field, including:
  • Positive Youth Development & Developmental Assets
  • Leadership Styles & Strengths-Based Leadership
  • Communication Strategies & Social Media Use
  • Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Resiliency & Trauma-Informed Care
  • 21st Century Technology Integration
  • Advocacy, Networking & Program Promotion

 
Each Session Includes:
  • A guest speaker with live Q&A
  • Small group collaboration
  • Guided reflection
  • Online follow-up to reinforce learning
