Expanding Minds and Opportunities Compendium

November 19, 2013

We have exciting news from the Statewide Afterschool Networks and the C. S. Mott Foundation. The long awaited  compendium of over 100 studies and articles highlighting the efficacy and importance of quality afterschool and summer programs was released last week in Washington, DC at the convening of the Statewide Afterschool Networks(SANs).  Join us in marking this landmark achievement by visiting the www.expandinglearning.org/expandingminds  site to learn more about how to use the compendium in your advocacy and outreach efforts. The Arkansas Out of School Network will post this to our website and will send out excerpts from time to time, but please explore this invaluable resource now.
Please Share this with a colleague.

This landmark collection of nearly 70 articles is being met with great acclaim, as it presents bold and persuasive evidence and best practices from the field that quality expanded learning opportunities
  • promote student success and college and career readiness,
  • build youth assets such as character, resilience and wellness,
  • foster partnerships that maximize resources and build community ties, and
  • engage families in their children’s learning in meaningful ways.
