The Center for Effective Parenting is a collaborative between UAMS and AR Children’s Hospital. Providers can find many resources to use to help parents and to pass along to them, including handouts and information on free parenting classes. - Resource that can be given to parents during a STEM family night or other event, which helps them understand what they can do to spark their child(dren)’s interest in STEM. - Website full of resources for parents of young children. The Arkansas Out of School Network’s Youth Development Institute has an ‘Engaging Parents’ course to help practitioners learn of strategies and best practices when it comes to getting parents involved and engaged in out-of-school time programs as well as a number of other courses that providers can provide to parents as resources for parenting. A Key to Successful Parent Engagement – Afterschool Alliance brief on the important role that afterschool programs play in engaging parents in the academic lives of students as well as how they can go about doing this.  They also highlight some national programs that are doing this very well and give examples.Arkansas Resources The Center for Effective Parenting is a program of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH). The Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) has a lot of resources, news and events geared towards parents and helping them be engaged in and empowered to play a role in their children’s education. The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service has education programs and other resources that can be of use to families across the state
